Life as Boarders in SJMIS
SJMIS Boarding provides a safe, secure and caring environment where students can focus on learning, discover new opportunities, and have fun at the same time.
Learning to live independently and managing one’s own time under the supervision and guidance of dorm deans or homestay parents is great preparation for the student’s future.

Student Live
SJMIS Boarding is more than a place where students sleep at the end of a busyday. The boarding environment brings students to new learning experiences and develops their ability to make personal choices that will enhance their personal growth and maturity. Students learn to appreciate consideration, co-operation, independence and how to live with others in a supportive environment. Whether through the sporting activities, weekend activity, monthly birthday event, or daily interaction with peers and adults, boarding students make lifelong friends and learn important life skills in the process.
Best of all, some of the most memorable, positive, and fun experiences happen within the dormitories.
We accommodate students from grade 1 – 12. Boarding is divided into two levels to appropriately cater the needs of a child. The two family – friendly shelters are :
Dormitory
Students grade 7 and above are accommodated in dormitories. Students who stay in dormitories benefit not only from supervised study time and weekday activities, but also enjoy the program of weekend activities if they choose to stay during the weekend. During the week, boarders concentrate on their academic studies, as well as participating in a wide range of sporting activities. Weekends are a time for fun, enjoy trips and pursue interests.
Homestay
Students grade 1-6 and above are accommodated in Homestay. Students who stay in Homestay benefit not only from supervised study time and weekday activities, but also enjoy the program of weekend activities if they choose to stay during the weekend. During the week, boarders concentrate on their academic studies, as well as participating in a wide range of sporting activities. Weekends are a time for fun, enjoy trips and pursue interests.
The Boarding complex is situated within the beautiful surroundings of nature. There are two buildings of the Dormitory and ten houses that we call homestay. Students are in rooms of 3 to 6 students. The rooms are all equipped with air conditioning systems, fitted wardrobes and bunk beds. In the Dormitory buildings on the ground floor are multipurpose rooms, study areas and a kitchen. At the Homestay the situation feels more like home.
The facilities which the Boarders have access to within the gated community include:
Swimming pool
Basketball court
Volleyball court
Golf range
